Carbone
Carbone is a well-established constructions company based in Milan. With the growing of the business and the team, they decided to move to a bigger office space in new premises, with a combined warehouse.
We decided to design the new office space by playing with construction materials and changing their normal use: why not use scaffold tubes to design an office table? Or create a bookshelf out of pallet?
Having the warehouse next door the office, making use of materials in stock seemed the natural sustainable approach. Francesca worked with Ghigos studio to design the 3-floor office by switching the perspective between architecture and interior. The office becomes a showcase of “unusual” furniture, built from leftover wood, spare sawhorses or scaffold tubes. Alongside the strong use of materials, the interiors were integrated with the colours and the visual language of the new branding of the company. Walking through the office the visitor sees reminders of the logo shape cut into the floor, or in the form of an opening on the wall.
